WWI in Pictures

Part 1:

1. Go to the website: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/world-war-one/10925556/In-pictures-Never-before-seen-photographs-from-World-War-One-frontline.html
2. Take time to look at all of the pictures in the album.  Think about the feeling you have while looking at the photos as well as look for details that tell you about the experience of living through WWI.
3. Pick one of the photos from the album. Write a paragraph describing what the picture is of and your reaction to it.  You can write about emotions you feel, thoughts or questions you have and why you picked this photograph.

Part 2:

4. Now go to the website: http://www.theatlantic.com/static/infocus/wwi/ 

5. Click on the introduction link and read through the photo captions.  Take your time to read them all and look at the pictures thoughtfully.

6. Pick three photos and share your thoughts.  In a paragraph, describe the photos and your feelings and questions about them. Include information that you learned about through the pictures and captions.

7. If you have time, you can look at the other photo collections on The Atlantic website for WWI.
